Upcoming Performing Arts Events in Sherwood

Recently, Sherwood was honored yet again as one of the top places to live in the United States by Money Magazine. What makes Sherwood stand out among other small towns was its “robust arts scene”, and the article goes on to describe our new Sherwood Center for the Arts as well as the strong arts programs within the school district. If you have not yet caught a performance from one of these incredible arts programs, there are several opportunities coming up over the next two months.

Rikki Tikki Tavi – January 30th, 7pm, at Sherwood High School

ADVRIKKITI-300x135

The Voices of the Performing Arts is proud to present this beloved Rudyard Kipling story about a brave mongoose who saves a British family from marauding cobras. The storyteller weaves this magical jungle tale filled with cobras, monkeys, wolves, a crocodile, a camel, an elephant and the wily mongoose, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi. The play stars actors from grades 4-8 and more information can be found here.

Broadway Bits – February 3rd, 7pm, at Sherwood High School

The Sherwood High School Choir students have selected some of the most beloved Broadway songs, new and old, and you are invited to the show! This annual fundraiser for the choir programs is family friendly and something you will not want to miss! Catch a sample from last year’s performance here and check here for information on ticket sales.

Swingin’ with Spaghetti – February 27th, 6pm at Sherwood High School

Mark your calendars now for this amazing evening of dinner and musical performances from both the middle school and high school band programs. This event sells out every year so be sure to purchase your tickets in advance. You may contact the school at 503-825-5500 for ticket information or visit the Band website here.
