Haunted House Information
Haunted houses are about being scary and we are very good at what we do.  While we have no age restrictions, the SMS PAC board does not feel that Spook Alley is appropriate for very young children. That being said, we’ve had young kids go through and have a lot of fun, while forty year old adults asked to leave before reaching the end. This is a very subjective call and we rely on the judgment of the parents or guardians.

Information compliements of Sherwood Middle School’s website.

The McCabe Real Estate Group are also proud parents of an SMS student too!  Happy Haunting!

Ollie The Onion For Sherwood's Great Onion Festival

Ollie The Onion For Sherwood's Great Onion Festival

Sherwood’s Great Onion Festival: 25th Celebration Saturday October 8th 9-4 pm Archer Glen Elementary School

This year Sherwood is celebrating  25 years of the Great Onion Festival. Set for Saturday, October 8th, from 9 am to 4 pm at Archer Glen Elementary, this annual Sherwood tradition has something for everyone, including vendors, barbecue chicken dinners, a variety of talent, contests, and prize drawings.

The Great Onion Festival offers barbecue chicken dinner accompanied by a baked onion, baked beans, coleslaw and a roll. Dessert will also be sold. For onion lovers, submit your favorite  “Best Dang Onion Dish” by noon the day of the event. The dish must arrive prepared and also contain “onions” in it. Sponsored By Wilson Orthodontics, a panel of local community members will judge the prepared onion dishes and Wilson Orthodontics will announce this year’s  two “Best Dang Onion Dish” winners.  For details and contest rules to submit your “Best Dang Onion Dish” entry, please go to:  http://www.sherwoodchamber.org

Local talent and contest will be featured on the main stage throughout the event. Dancers, singers and even a Yo Yo presentation are just to name a few of the performers. Contests include the Bittner Dentistry “Onion Rolling” Contest, and the Pacific Family Dental “Onion Eating” contest which is always an event favorite. Raffle drawings will happen every half hour compliments of local businesses donating the prizes. Children will also be able to go to the kid’s corner to have their face painted, can decorate a mini pumpkin, or compete in the fun contests.

An estimated 4,000 people attend the Great Onion Festival each year. Besides the famous “fireman’s chicken”, there will be a variety of vendors  selling arts & crafts, products and services. To celebrate 25 years of the festival, several local volunteers will be recognized and honored for their volunteer work and dedication that has helped make this event a huge success each year.

For information about this year’s 25th Great Onion Festival, please go to the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce’s website: http://www.sherwoodchamber.org.

The McCabe Real Estate Group are proud to be volunteers for this year’s event and also are proud sponsors for this year’s 25th anniversary.

9-11 10th Anniversary: Field of Flags Memorial In Salem, Oregon

911 Field Of Flags Featured in Salem, Oregon

911 Field Of Flags Featured in Salem, Oregon

This memorial is featured in Salem, Oregon near the Oregon State Capitol. It was very touching for us to witness this site today as a family and we explained to our two young boys what these flags symbolized.

There is one  flag  displayed for each person who lost their life in the September terrorist attacks. There are 2,996 flags.

We will never forget this day and lift up all families who lost a loved one ten years ago today. Bless you all.
