Everything You Need to Know About Back to School!


Back to school can be stressful, especially if you have children at multiple locations.  Here’s a summary of what you need to know for getting your family ready to return to school this fall if they attend Sherwood schools. Enjoy these last precious days of summer vacation!

Start Dates: 

  • September 6th: First day for grades K(A), 1st-6th, and 9th
  • September 7th: First day for grades K(B), 7th-8th, 10th-12th
  • September 8th: Grade K(C)


Elementary School Information:

  • August 26th – Class Lists Posted by 4pm on Front Doors
  • September 1st – Supply Nights at 4pm
  • September 22nd – Back to School Night for Adults Only at 6:30pm
  • School Pictures: Sept. 21st (Hopkins & Middleton), Oct. 6th (Edy Ridge), Oct. 7th (Archer Glen),
  • Fun Runs: Sept. 23rd (Edy Ridge), Sept. 30th (Hopkins, Middleton and Archer Glen)

Middle School Information: 

  • LRMS: August 23rd: 6th Grade Registration at 4pm; August 24th/25th: Registration Open House at 9am
  • SMS: August 22nd – 26th: Registration Open House
  • September 15th: Back To School Night
  • September 23rd: Middle School Bands Play at SHS Football Game 7pm
  • Septmeber 27th: Homework Club Begins at SMS (3pm)

High School Information:

  • August 19th: Schedules on Synergy
  • August 25th – New Student Registration
  • August 26th / 27th : LINK Crew Training at 10am
  • August 30th: Senior Parking Permits Open
  • September 1st: Junior Parking Permits Open
  • September 13th: Last Day to Change Schedule Without W/F
  • September 14th: Picture Day
  • September 19th: Back To School Night at 6:30pm
  • October 3rd – October 8th: Homecoming Week

In order to volunteer at any level, you must complete the annual background check form found here.  This is required annually, even if you’ve done it in the past and it also required for chaperoning events or helping in or outside of the classroom.
