On Friday, August 17th starting at 8 pm, bring your lawn chairs and come sit around Sherwood’s new Plaza area to watch this evening’s McCabe Real Estate Group sponsored movie: Dolphin Tale. Sherwood vendors will be selling goodies/treats before and after the movie. Sherwood’s summer movie event used to called Movies in The Park and was held for the past several years at Sherwood’s Stella Olson Park on their main stage. For the past two years, The McCabe Real Estate Group has sponsored that community event. This year, the McCabe Real Estate Group is proud to sponsor one of the three movies at the new movie venue, the new Sherwood plaza. The McCabe’s will have a tent at the event and will be giving away Frisbees to the first 100 people before tonight’s movie begins. The movie will start once it gets dark enough outside which most likely will be between 8:30 and 9 pm.
On Saturday morning, August 18th, Sherwood’s YMCA will be hosting their 5th Annual Sherwood Family Triathlon. Registration begins at 8:30 am at the Sherwood YMCA and the event ends with an amazing community barbecue. The McCabe Real Estate Group is proud to be again be sponsors of this wonderful Sherwood tradition. Leslie McCabe also serves on Sherwood’s YMCA Board and loves supporting Sherwood’s YMCA any way that she and Todd can.
From 9 am to 3 pm, The Sherwood Youth Football Car wash will take place at Hopkins, Archer Glen and at Edy Ridge Elementary School. Car wash tickets are only $5.00 each and support the Sherwood Youth Football program.

Amy Roloff from TLC’s “Little People Big World” will be making a guest appearance at the 2012 Sherwood Robin Hood Festival. She will be in Sherwood, Oregon on Saturday promoting the Amy Roloff Foundation event (http://amyroloffcharityfoundation.org/). She will riding in the Robin Hood Festival parade at 10 am on Saturday. From 12-2 pm she will than be at the McCabe Real Estate Group’s Booth for a personal “meet and greet”. The McCabe Real Estate Group’s booth is located on Washington Street in Old Town Sherwood.

During her two hour appearance at the McCabe Real Estate Group’s booth, $20 raffle tickets will be sold for a chance to win an all-inclusive trip to Jamaica raising money for the Amy Roloff Charity Foundation. Amy and the McCabe Group will also be helping promote Amy’s Annual Golf & Dinner Event that will be held September 15, 2012 at the Roloff Farm located in Hillsboro, Oregon. Until July 31st, tickets for this year’s September fundraiser are only $65 per person and $100 per person starting August 1, 2012.

Todd & Leslie McCabe 2012 Sherwood Robin Hood Festival Parade Grand Marshalls
Todd and Leslie McCabe from the McCabe Real Estate Group and Keller Williams are not only well respected as a successful Sherwood Real Estate Team, but also for their continued community work in Sherwood.
This year’s grand marshals of the Saturday parade, the couple donate thousands of dollars each year to their community and are proud to have been able to help start Sherwood’s Relay For Life in 2005, the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraising event.
In 2007 they also started a Benefit Egg hunt, Egg Hunt For Hope, that raises money for a local Sherwood family affected by cancer. Last year they gave $60 to 26 participants (total of $1,560) and challenged them to grow that $60 into more money and to make a difference with it.
Their donation grew close to $20,000 and their “$60 McCabe Group Money Grow Challenge” was featured in the Feb. 6 issue of Woman’s World Magazine.
The proud parents of three boys, their business philosophy is “the more they sell, the more they give back to their community.” If you have ever met Todd and Leslie, you know that they live in a town they love, and are teaching their children that you can make a positive difference in others’ lives wherever you live by simply volunteering your time and “giving back” wherever and however you can.

Debra’s remodeling experience launched her career in real estate, and she became a licensed agent in 1992 while also managing her remodels. After a stint in the mortgage business working in underwriting, loan origination and working with wholesale lenders, Debra found that she missed the thrill of being in the house when the buyers realized, “This is IT!”, and sharing in their excitement. She returned to real estate, working as both a buyers and sellers agent, and uses her background in remodeling, design and finance to better serve her clients.
Debra is passionate, outgoing, fun loving and dedicated. Her goal is to make the whole buying and selling process pleasant for all parties involved.
When not working, Debra enjoys travel, boating, cooking, gardening, entertaining, and is always helping a friend or relative redecorate their home. Sherwood's 15th Annual Woodhaven Neighborhood Garage Sale
Sherwood’s 15th Annual Woodhaven Neighborhood Garage Sale is set for this Friday and Saturday, June 29-30 from 9 am to 3 pm in the beautiful Woodhaven community. Typically over 90 homes participate, with garage sales on on both sides of Sunset.
Many shoppers park their cars near Sherwood’s YMCA and walk up and down the streets. Sponsored by the Woodhaven HOA and Sherwood realtors, the McCabe Real Estate Group, the Woodhaven Garage Sale Maps are the hot ticket for each year’s event. The McCabe Real Estate Group created the map idea 7 years ago and it is loved so much other neighborhood garage sales started to incorporate maps as well into their sales. Woodhaven Garage Sale Maps will be located on the corners of Sunset & Pinehurst, Sunset & Woodhaven Drive, and Dewey & Woodhaven Drive.
“Some garage sales will open before 9 am and will stay open later than 3 pm which I think is great. It’s amazing to see how many loyal shoppers and homeowners look to participating in Sherwood’s largest neighborhood garage sale and I am proud to be a part of this annual Sherwood event” states Leslie McCabe, Sherwood realtor from the McCabe Real Estate Group, co-event organizer and also Woodhaven homeowner.

Sherwood Events: YMCA Strong Communities Campaign And Other Upcoming Events At Sherwood’s YMCA: Sherwood, Oregon.
It’s that time of year to please help out Sherwood’s YMCA. The annual YMCA “Strong Communities Campaign” kicks off Friday February 24th and goes to Saturday March 3rd. On Friday, February 17th at 9 am, Sherwood YMCA staff and community members were the featured audience for the Friday KATU channel 2 show of AM Northwest. Hosted by Dave Anderson and Helen Raptis, they announced Sherwood’s YMCA “Strong Communities Campaign” as the Sherwood YMCA audience cheered them on.
During the Strong Communities fundraising campaign week, many events and activities will be going on including on Saturday March 3rd a Dine & Dance/auction event that will be held at Bella Via in Sherwood. All fundraising and donations during that week of Sherwood’s YMCA “Strong’s Communities Campaign” will go towards the Sherwood YMCA Teen Center. Any support is appreciated as the YMCA is a huge part of the Sherwood Community.

When we received an email from Nate asking us if we could help him spread the word that he is competing for the title of Sherwood High School’s “Mr. Bowmen” we said we would absolutely help share his story on our blog and facebook pages to support his efforts. The McCabe Real Estate Group is very proud to be able to share his desire and dreams to win this competition while raising money for a great cause, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. Nate was one of our 22 participants for the $60 McCabe Money Grow Challenge. He raised over $1,000 as a participant in our challenge and we could not be more thrilled to support his fundraising goal for the Mr. Bowmen contest. Nate’s fundraising amount is not small for this event either. He stated his minimum goal is to raise at least $2,500 as a contestant for the Mr. Bowmen contest.
This annual Sherwood event will be held on Thursday, March 1st at Sherwood High School. The Mr Bowmen contest includes a talent contest, funny videos and a bunch of high school seniors making fun of themselves on stage in front of the community all for a good cause to raise money for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. The Mr. Bowmen participants also take a field trip to Doernbecher where they meet and visit with some of the patients.
