This weekend Sherwood has several great events including: The ” Pix on the Plaza” and the 5th Annual Sherwood YMCA Family Triathlon both proudly sponsored by the McCabe Real Estate Group, a local Sherwood real estate company.

On Friday, August 17th starting at 8 pm, bring your lawn chairs and come sit around Sherwood’s new Plaza area to watch this evening’s McCabe Real Estate Group sponsored movie: Dolphin Tale. Sherwood vendors will be selling goodies/treats before and after the movie. Sherwood’s summer movie event used to called Movies in The Park and was held for the past several years at Sherwood’s Stella Olson Park on their main stage. For the past two years, The McCabe Real Estate Group has sponsored that community event. This year, the McCabe Real Estate Group is proud to sponsor one of the three movies at the new movie venue, the new Sherwood plaza. The McCabe’s will have a tent at the event and will be giving away Frisbees to the first 100 people before tonight’s movie begins. The movie will start once it gets dark enough outside which most likely will be between 8:30 and 9 pm.
On Saturday morning, August 18th, Sherwood’s YMCA will be hosting their 5th Annual Sherwood Family Triathlon. Registration begins at 8:30 am at the Sherwood YMCA and the event ends with an amazing community barbecue. The McCabe Real Estate Group is proud to be again be sponsors of this wonderful Sherwood tradition. Leslie McCabe also serves on Sherwood’s YMCA Board and loves supporting Sherwood’s YMCA any way that she and Todd can.
From 9 am to 3 pm, The Sherwood Youth Football Car wash will take place at Hopkins, Archer Glen and at Edy Ridge Elementary School. Car wash tickets are only $5.00 each and support the Sherwood Youth Football program.

A young Sherwood Relay For Life Cancer Survivor
The Sherwood Relay For Life is set for Saturday August 4 to Sunday August 2 located at Sherwood High School’s Track & Field. The event starts at 10 am on Saturday and ends at 10 am on Sunday.

What is Relay For Life? It is a unique fundraising event in which individuals and teams take turns walking around the Sherwood High School track for 24 hours to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember those we’ve lost, and commit to fight back against the disease. The money raised through Relay For Life supports the American Cancer Society’s efforts to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. Amy Roloff from TLC’s “Little People Big World” will be making a guest appearance at the 2012 Sherwood Robin Hood Festival. She will be in Sherwood, Oregon on Saturday promoting the Amy Roloff Foundation event (http://amyroloffcharityfoundation.org/). She will riding in the Robin Hood Festival parade at 10 am on Saturday. From 12-2 pm she will than be at the McCabe Real Estate Group’s Booth for a personal “meet and greet”. The McCabe Real Estate Group’s booth is located on Washington Street in Old Town Sherwood.

During her two hour appearance at the McCabe Real Estate Group’s booth, $20 raffle tickets will be sold for a chance to win an all-inclusive trip to Jamaica raising money for the Amy Roloff Charity Foundation. Amy and the McCabe Group will also be helping promote Amy’s Annual Golf & Dinner Event that will be held September 15, 2012 at the Roloff Farm located in Hillsboro, Oregon. Until July 31st, tickets for this year’s September fundraiser are only $65 per person and $100 per person starting August 1, 2012.

Sherwood's 15th Annual Woodhaven Neighborhood Garage Sale
Sherwood’s 15th Annual Woodhaven Neighborhood Garage Sale is set for this Friday and Saturday, June 29-30 from 9 am to 3 pm in the beautiful Woodhaven community. Typically over 90 homes participate, with garage sales on on both sides of Sunset.
Many shoppers park their cars near Sherwood’s YMCA and walk up and down the streets. Sponsored by the Woodhaven HOA and Sherwood realtors, the McCabe Real Estate Group, the Woodhaven Garage Sale Maps are the hot ticket for each year’s event. The McCabe Real Estate Group created the map idea 7 years ago and it is loved so much other neighborhood garage sales started to incorporate maps as well into their sales. Woodhaven Garage Sale Maps will be located on the corners of Sunset & Pinehurst, Sunset & Woodhaven Drive, and Dewey & Woodhaven Drive.
“Some garage sales will open before 9 am and will stay open later than 3 pm which I think is great. It’s amazing to see how many loyal shoppers and homeowners look to participating in Sherwood’s largest neighborhood garage sale and I am proud to be a part of this annual Sherwood event” states Leslie McCabe, Sherwood realtor from the McCabe Real Estate Group, co-event organizer and also Woodhaven homeowner.
The McCabe Real Estate Group also helps the Vineyards HOA organize their annual Vineyards Neighborhood Garage Sale which is also this coming weekend. The Vineyards is located also across from Hwy 99 and Meineke going North into their neighborhood with typically 10 to 20 homes participating in their annual neighborhood sale.

Organized and founded by Sherwood real estate group, The McCabe Real Estate Group, the 6th annual Egg Hunt For Hope is set for this Saturday March 31st at 1:30 pm in Sherwood, Oregon. Located at Archer Glen Elementary School’s field, there will be four hunts: 0-2, 3 to kindergarten, 1st to 5th grade and a free hunt for adults too. Cost is only $3.00 per child with all money raised at the event being donated to a local Sherwood family affected by cancer.
This year’s egg hunt recipient is Madelyn “Mady” Stamets, an 18 month old Sherwood girl. In April of 2011, at only 10 months old, Madelyn was diagnosed with a Malignant Rhabdoid Tumor. In October of 2011, she completed her treatment, and is currently in remission.

There will also be other ways at the event to help us raise money for Mady which will include beverages and snacks sold as a “donation” only along with the chance to buy drawing tickets at $1 each or 6 for $5.00 to win some of the amazing gift baskets that have been donated.
Rain or shine, there will be four separate egg hunts which includes one for adults. The event will start at 1:30 pm. Don’t forget to bring your rubber boots and rain gear in case it rains along with your camera to get pictures taken with the Easter bunny.

Nate Montgomery Competing For Sherwood's MR. Bowmen Contest
Sherwood real estate agents Todd & Leslie McCabe of the McCabe Real Estate Group and Sherwood Keller Williams Real Estate, are proud to not only live and work in Sherwood, but also to be community supporters of several Sherwood events.
They are proud to support the Sherwood High School “Mr. Bowmen Contest” and Sherwood high school senior Nate Montgomery on his quest to win this year’s contest while raising money for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
Nate was one the McCabe Real Estate Group’s 22 participants for the $60 McCabe Money Grow Challenge. He raised over $1,000 as a participant in their challenge and was featured in the February 6th 2012 article in Woman’s World Magazine about the $60 Money Grow Event and how the McCabe’s were “doing good” in their community of Sherwood, Oregon. Woman’s World Magazine has over 1.6 million readers.

When we received an email from Nate asking us if we could help him spread the word that he is competing for the title of Sherwood High School’s “Mr. Bowmen” we said we would absolutely help share his story on our blog and facebook pages to support his efforts. The McCabe Real Estate Group is very proud to be able to share his desire and dreams to win this competition while raising money for a great cause, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. Nate was one of our 22 participants for the $60 McCabe Money Grow Challenge. He raised over $1,000 as a participant in our challenge and we could not be more thrilled to support his fundraising goal for the Mr. Bowmen contest. Nate’s fundraising amount is not small for this event either. He stated his minimum goal is to raise at least $2,500 as a contestant for the Mr. Bowmen contest.
This annual Sherwood event will be held on Thursday, March 1st at Sherwood High School. The Mr Bowmen contest includes a talent contest, funny videos and a bunch of high school seniors making fun of themselves on stage in front of the community all for a good cause to raise money for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. The Mr. Bowmen participants also take a field trip to Doernbecher where they meet and visit with some of the patients.

Sherwood Football 2010 5A State Champions
Sherwood High School 5A Championship Game today at 5:30 pm in Hillsboro, Oregon at the Hillsboro Stadium
Sherwood High School the current2010 5A State Football Champions will be be defending their title tonight at the 5A Championship game held at Hillsboro’s stadium.
The community is asked to meet at Sherwood High School no later than 2 pm to caravan over as a community to the event. The Sherwood Police Department will also be providing a police escort to the stadium.
Tickets are $10 for adults and only $ for students. The McCabe Real Estate Group is proud to be a 2010 and 2011 Bowmen sponsor and wish our team “Good Luck” at tonight’s championship game!
