Sherwood Family Triathlon
The 4th Annual Sherwood Family Triathlon is set for Saturday August 20, 2011 at Sherwood’s YMCA facility. Fun for all ages, check in begins at 7:30 am for the Sherwood Family Triathlon event at the Sherwood YMCA.
The Sherwood Family Triathlon is an an event to encourage individuals, families, and the community to be active together! The proceeds benefit the Sherwood Charter School and the Sherwood Family YMCA. The McCabe Real Estate Group is proud to be a $500 sponsor of this year’s annual sherwood event.

Here are some July 4th events in and around Sherwood, Oregon. An annual Sherwood event is Woodhaven’s neighborhood Annual 4th of July Parade. Each year at around 9 am, Woodhaven residence meet up on the street ofMcConnell Ct. with their bikes, cars and even strollers proudly displaying colors of red, white and blue. The Woodhaven Homeowners Associate (HOA) sponsors this annual Sherwood event providing some morning treats to the participating Woodhaven homeowners. $1 Benefit Sale This Saturday In Newberg With Proceeds Raised To Help a local Sherwood Family Adopt Siblings From Uganda. The sale begins at 8 am and will only go until 1 pm. This Saturday’s sale is to help a local Sherwood family adopt a brother and sister from Uganda. Everything at the sale is priced at only $1! That’s right everything is $1.00! Clothing, toys, home decorations, books, furniture, bikes, baby items and much, much more! Thousands of items available, all for only one price, $1.00! There will even be brand new items for sale. Refreshments will also be available for sale at the event! The event wil be located at the Chehalem Armory Center, 620 N Morton St, in Newberg. Come shop early to get the best selection.
The VandeHoek Family
Meet the VandeHoek Family. Darci VandenHoek owns a local photography studio, Kazurri Studios located in Sherwood and in Oregon City, Oregon. She is very involved in her community. She volunteers her photography services to local Sherwood events including Sherwood’s Cruisin Car Show and the Annual Robin Hood Festival. Darci has also been the official photographer for two years in a row for the The McCabe Real Estate Group’s Annual Benefit Egg Hunt For Hope, where all money raised at the egg hunt is donated to a Sherwood family affected by cancer. Ken, her husband currently owns his own custom cabinetry company. A few years ago, both Ken and Darci took a two year hiatus and lived in Kenya where they were missionaries. They have made Sherwood, Oregon their home now for 18 years and are the proud parents of two teenagers. This week’s Sherwood Events include several Sherwood Relay For Life fundraisers, the Cruisin in Car show, and Sherwood High School graduation.
This evening in Sherwood, Oregon is Sherwood High School’s graduation ceremonies. The graduation ceremony begins at 7 pm on the high school’s track and field. Please make sure to get to the high school early enough to be able to get a seat.
Tomorrow, Saturday, June 11, from 9 am to 4 pm, celebrate the 21st Annual Sherwood Crusin’ Car show. Organized by the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce, come see marvel at over 550+ hot rod vehicles all lining Sherwood’s Old Town Streets on display for everyone to see. This year’s Cruisin’ Car show title sponsor is again IIM, a local Sherwood business and Sherwood’s 2010 Large Business of the Year recipient.
Other Sherwood events going on this weekend include several Sherwood Relay For Life fundraisers. On Saturday, June 11th, Team Kaped Krusaders, a Sherwood youth relay for life team is having a Pop Can Drive. The team is asking that you leave all of your refundable cans/glass/plastics in a sealed garbage bag outside of your home by 9 am. They promise to have them picked up by noon. Also a Sherwood Relay For Life fundraiser, on both Friday and Saturday, June 10th and June 11th, from 9-2pm, Team Ocean Landscaping is having a plant sale in Sherwood. The sale is located at 17983 SW Eldred Ln. All proceeds raised will go to the Relay For Life, which is the signature fundraising event for the American Cancer Society.

Radio Disney will be at Sherwood’s Cruisin’ Car show this Saturday June 11, 2011. Can you
say M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E and about 550+ hot rod cars! Than head on over to Sherwood, Oregon to attend the 21st Annual Sherwood Cruisin’ Car Show.
Organized by The Sherwood Chamber of Commerce, again this year as the title sponsor is Sherwood’s IIM. Also known as Innovations in Management, this Sherwood company is leading the nation in facility maintenance. Locally owned, the company has over 30 years of combined experience in retail maintenance has rapidly grown to become one of the largest female owned companies in the industry. Relay For Life of Beaverton is holding a huge yard sale this Saturday June 2, 2011 in Beaverton. All money raised at this weekend’s yard sale will be donated to the American Cancer Society. If you are not familiar with the Relay For Life event, it is the signature fundraising event for the American Cancer Society. Relay For Life events are now wordlwide.
The McCabe Real Estate Group is proud to be a volunteer and financial supporter for the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life. The more homes we sell, the more we give back to our community such as the Relay For Life (we are proud sponsors this year of Sherwood’s Relay For Life event). We are also fundraising for the American Cancer Society. LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is physical activity and well being program designed to help adult cancer survivors achieve their holistic health goals. Participants work with Y staff trained is supportive cancer care to safely achieve their goals such as building muscle mass and strength; increasing flexibility and endurance; and improving confidence and self-esteem. By focusing on the whole person and not the disease, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA helps people move beyond cancer in spirit, mind and body.

Mark your calendar’s for the 7th Annual American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Sherwood August 6th and 7th starting at 10 am at Sherwood High School’s track and field. This annual Sherwood event is for 24 hours ending at 10 am on Sunday, August 7th.
