Over 500 people came out that Saturday to support Liam and his family. Hunts were for all ages including a free egg hunt for adults too. Each hunt had several “prize” eggs with kids and adults leaving the event with a variety of gift certificates. They came out to support a local family while having fun doing it.

The 5th Annual McCabe Real Estate Group’s Benefit Egg Hunt For HOPE is set for Saturday, April 16th starting at 1:30 pm at Archer Glen Elementary school’s field. The school address is 16155 SW Sunset Blvd, Sherwood Oregon.
All money raised at the event will go directly to a local family. This year’s egg hunt recipient is Liam Jaussi. Liam, a 6 year old Sherwood boy, and kindergarten student, was diagnosed last May with brain cancer.
Cost is $3.00 per child. There will be other ways to help raise money for Liam at the event including beverages and snacks sold as a “donation only” and drawing tickets sold for a chance to win one of the several donated gift baskets. Also, the 1st 100 kids to register at the event will each receive an Egg Hunt For HOPE eco friendly bag to use for their egg hunt compliments of the McCabe Real Estate Group. Also, don’t forget to bring your camera to get pictures taken with the Easter Bunny!

Rain or shine, there will be egg hunts for: age 0-2, 3-kindergarten, 1st to 5th grade and one for adults too!
Candy and plastic egg donations are being accepted at several Sherwood businesses. You can drop them off at Sherwood’s John L. Scott office located at 20510 SW Roy Rogers Rd. Suite 120 or at Bittner Dentistry For Kids, Sherwood’s Les Schwab, Fat Milo’s in Old Town, Going Postal, Chapman Smiles and also at Innovations In Management.

This past year was the McCabe Real Estate Group’s 4th Annual Benefit Egg Hunt. All money raised goes to a local family in need. This past year, our egg hunt was for our good friend Del Clark. As many of you know, Del was a past Sherwood Chamber President, on City Council, a husband, and father. He was also a cancer survivor. Todd and I met Del through Sherwood’s Relay For Life event back in 2005. He was well known at our event. And how could you not miss him? Standing at 6 ft 7 inches tall and also bald, Del always walked with the other cancer survivors making the1st lap that would kick off Sherwood’s Relay For Life event. He was one of our key survivor participants and event supporters.
It’s with great sadness that on Friday, September 24th, after a year long battle with brain cancer and short bout with colon cancer, Del lost his life to this ugly disease. His memorial (please be patient as his memorial information is on this page and wait for it to scroll back around) will be held on Sunday, at 2pm at Sherwood High School.
He will be sadly missed in so many ways in our community of Sherwood, Oregon.

The 4th Annual McCabe Real Estate Group’s Benefit Egg Hunt was a huge success! With beautiful spring weather, over 1,200 people came out to support this year’s recipient, Del Clark. People drove from Beaverton, West Linn, Hillsboro, and even Salem to help us raise over $2,400 for Del, a local father & Sherwood City Councilor, who has colon and brain cancer. Since Del is a past Sherwood Chamber president, it seemed fitting to team up with the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce to help raise as much money for Del. Rain or shine it’s time for the 4th Annual McCabe Real Estate Group’s Benefit Egg Hunt this Saturday, March 27th in Sherwood, Oregon. Only $2.00 per child, this year’s event will be held again at Archer Glen Elementary School located at 16155 SW Sunset Blvd. Hunts will be held for ages: 0-2, 3 to kindergarten, 1st to 5th grade and one for adults too (18 and older).
All proceeds raised will go to Del Clark and his family. Local City Councilor and past Sherwood Chamber President, last fall Del was diagnosed with colon cancer and then told that his brain cancer had also returned (he was a brain cancer survivor for 22 years). I have several friends with the name Amber. A childhood friend, local realtor, colleague. All are great women who share the same name.
Even though our blog focuses upon the events, homes, and people “in and around Sherwood, Oregon,” location really didn’t matter in choosing this month’s Making A Difference recipient. The McCabe Real Estate Group would like to recognize Amber Fowler for her passion to help other women through her new role as the Founder to Dress for Success Spokane!
In the very near future, Amber will be opening the doors to Spokane, Washington’s very own Dress for Success, an international organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
As the Founder of the Spokane affiliate, Amber and Dress for Success will be helping the women of the Inland Northwest “clothes” the deal by providing them with clean, currently in style professional business clothing to help them make the right first impression on their next job interview.
Recently, Amber authored the article Helping Women “Clothes” the Deal, currently featured online in More Magazine’s Reinvent Yourselfcontest. As of today, her article is ranked 35 out of over 386 submissions. The magazine is holding a contest with the Top Ten vote-getters (as of Friday, February 26th) having their stories reviewed by More Magazine editors who will then choose one winner that will receive a trip for two to New York City to attend More Magazine’s NYC “Reinvention Convention” this October. Amber, a native Oregonian, relocated to Spokane this past year. While in Spokane, she saw a need for the services provided by Dress for Success. Following an intense application and business plan process that began more than 9 months ago, on January 6th, Amber was notified by the Worldwide office that Spokane would become home to a new affiliate. As part of the start-up phase, Amber is waiting for the IRS to send her the official Letter of Determination confirming the 501 (C) 3 status of the Spokane affiliate. Very soon, Dress for Success Spokane a volunteer driven organization will open its doors and begin accepting women’s business clothing.
Because of Amber’s hard work, The McCabe Real Estate Group has donated $100 to Dress for Success Spokane. I am personally honored to have also been asked to serve on the Board of Directors for the Spokane affiliate.
Women supporting women, regardless if they are in Spokane, Washington or Sherwood, Oregon, it’s about Making a Difference. Congratulations Amber!
